Suria <3's Yoga
Suria started doing Yoga at a young age, it having come naturally from growing up in an alternative hippie-run household. At first in typical teenager fashion she thought it was something weird and embarrassing that her mother did. But later, thankfully, saw some sense.
She had a steady personal practice for a few years, until one day whilst thinking about Darth Vader and breathing in down dog, she saw a flash of the future, and decided to become a Yoga Teacher.
Also as she mostly wore tights all the time, it seemed like a logical career progression.
After a life changing training with Shakti Mhi at Prana in Vancouver, Canada, she qualified as a Certified Yoga Instructor.
She now helps people see a different way of thinking, with an approach based in sci-fi and comics.

Style
Suria teaches a variety of different classes. Traditional Hatha, which is focused on a solid grounding and proper alignment; Power, which focuses on strength building and good foundation; Restorative, a very relaxed style of yoga, great for getting into deep tissue connectors, as well as the trapped emotions sometimes stored in muscles; and Vinyasa style, a faster moving, fluid based style of yoga, focused on increasing heat and movement in the body, this kind of yoga will come naturally to those with a dance background.
The way she teaches is great for all ages, shapes and abilities. Yoga shouldn't be painful! Students are encouraged to focus on breathing, find a still point and work at their own pace. Each posture is meditation. Classes are designed to tone the body, inside and out, with postures that not only tone muscles, but internal organs as well. From this approach we start to see the more holistic benefits of Yoga, to cleanse the body and increase Prana (Life Force) Energy.
